Jesus is the best gift ever. Period. That’s what’s on my mind this Christmas. I hope wherever you are in your relationship with God, this short post may be an encouragement to you.
What’s so great about Jesus?
One of many important differences in Christianity and other world religions is that the birth of Jesus was prophesied hundreds of years before he was born…
“For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6 )
And he was born exactly as prophesied!
From the Bible:
7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
God loved us so much that He sent Jesus!
We all have to decide what we believe and why we believe what we believe. For me, I believe this life is not a life of happenstance but of thoughtful, intelligent design by the God who loves me enough to send his only son, Jesus, to be born same as me, to know the heartaches of human life same as me, to die a human death same as I will, and ultimately, to be resurrected as proof that I, too, will be resurrected because of my belief in God.

I hope for us all that this Christmas, we intentionally focus on Jesus and celebrate the gift that he was and is.
God bless you!
